Wow that's crazy I WAS adopted! And you're right my relationship was strained with my Mothers. I was adopted until the age of 16 and went back with bio family. Both Mothers were very abusive and I now realize they were competitive with me. As I heal I'm observing that I carried traits, naturally, that they pretended to have. They always made me feel as though who I was wasn't good enough even when I achieved their goals. They made me out to be a demon to others and just smeared my character. I now realize it's because of the mask they wore and I was a constant reminder of who they are not. BOTH also had issues with severe depression. They both never worked and just slept all day. I now realize another point why they did what they did. From a young child I was always told I was going to be a leader and have a great job and be successful. I now get another layer of their hate towards me and why it seemed I could NEVER do anything right even when I did exactly their way. I was set up from the beginning.
